| Research Title: | Studying Business Models for Massive Online Educational Institutions |
| Description: | There is much discussion in the popular press and academic circles about how new forms of online learning may disrupt higher education. For example, MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), such as the ones offered by Coursera, Udacity, edX, University of the People and the Khan Academy, offer free online classes across multiple disciplines. However, to be successful in the long term as a stable educational institution, one needs to have a good business model. In this project, the student will study, evaluate and compare the current business models of the established online educational institutions. In addition, the student will explore possible novel business models for the next generation of online institutions. |
