Social Impact

BUSINESS: the dominant social institution of our age.

Through a balance of curricular and co-curricular offerings, the Stern Undergraduate College develops socially responsible individuals who:

• think critically about how business affects society;
• apply classroom lessons to make a real world impact;
• are prepared to tackle the economic and social challenges of this century as future world business leaders.

In the classroom, students participate in the Social Impact Core, a four-course sequence designed to introduce you to the interconnections between business and society.

As a complement, many opportunities are available to you to discover how you can make a positive social impact on campus, locally and globally. For example, you can

• EXPLORE the growing field of social entrepreneurship as an NYU Reynolds Scholar or as a participant in the Be a Changemaker Challenge;
• COLLABORATE with staff to support the NYU and Stern sustainability initiatives;
• ENGAGE with fellow students, administration, alumni and/or corporate partners:
  • as a part of the Stern Consulting Corps;
  • as a Stern International Volunteer;
  • as a service project volunteer or intern with a nonprofit organization (and as a recipient of a Social Impact Stipend.)
