Social Entrepreneurship Minor (4 Courses, 14-18 Credits)

Non-profits and government harnessing market forces to enhance their public work.  Start-up firms centering their mission around social goals. Micro-finance banks earning substantial profits while enabling thousands to work their way out of poverty.  'Intrepreneurs' changing established corporate practices from the inside, for socially-beneficial ends.  These
and a host of other aspects of the emerging field of social entrepreneurship are explored in detail in this new Stern School-Wagner School minor. Gateway courses on public policy and public service are followed by a range of Wagner and Stern classes exploring the management, public-policy implications, and social & economic consequences of the current social-entreprenurial turn in the U.S. and, increasingly, worldwide.

Public Policy & Management Minor (4 Courses, 14-18 Credits)

In an age of increasing public-private cooperation, with the traditional lines between government, business, and the nonprofit sectors blurred, NYU's Stern School of Business and Wagner School of Public Service announce a collaborative undergraduate minor in public policy and management. Recognizing that the typical undergraduate will move fluidly between
public and private realms in their professional work, this joint program is designed to offer broad exposure to and preparation in both.  Students electing this minor may choose from a carefully selected range of Stern and Wagner policy, management, and business courses.  Among the first collaborative efforts of its kind among U.S. universities, this genuinely
interdisciplinary program showcases both the business/management acumen and public-service heart of these leading NYU professional schools.
