Helvecio is a first year MBA student concentrating in Finance and Global Business. Prior to enrolling at Stern, Helvecio worked for about 2 years as Junior Professional Associate at the World Bank in Washington, DC, with sustainable development and carbon credits projects. Before joining the bank, he managed operations at a start up in Brazil for 3 years, developing a portfolio of more than 20 carbon credit projects in several sectors, including renewable energy and waste management.

 

Puja is originally from Mumbai, India and most recently has been living in the NY/NJ area. Upon graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, she made a career switch from Genetics into Advertising.  Prior to Stern, she did strategy work in the Advertising/Communications space for several clients including Kao brands, Kraft, Procter & Gamble and Samsung.  Puja is specializing in Marketing and Strategy, with the intent to pursue a career in brand strategy.  On a personal note, Puja is an avid follower of world events and has a passion for all things epicurean.

 

After graduating from Cornell University with a BA in Economics, Howard spent 5 years as a proprietary trader, where he focused international equities and currencies.  Prior to pursuing his MBA, he spent time in China volunteering and teaching English to local organizations.  Howard is currently specializing in Financial Instruments & Markets as well as Quantitative Finance and will spend the upcoming summer at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Diane majored in Management Economics at Ateneo De Manila University. She worked for 2 diplomatic missions and the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. during the 5 years before she came to Stern. She is currently specializing in Global Business and Corporate Finance at NYU Stern and will be joining Lehman Brothers as an associate in their Investment Banking Division this summer. Diane is actively involved at Stern. Aside from being VP of Corporate Relations for EMA, she holds leadership positions in SCORP and the Asian Business Society.

Gladis is a first year MBA student concentrating in Finance and Global Business. Before coming at Stern, she was a Marketing and Business Development Consultant for the New York office of the Milan-Chamber of Commerce and, prior to that, worked for several years in Beijing as Secretary General of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, a not-for-profit organization aimed at developing business between Italy and China. Born and raised in Italy, Gladis majored in Chinese language at Universita' Ca' Foscari of Venice and is fluent in Italian and Mandarin. In addition to the position of VP of Technology, Gladis also serves as a member of the SWIB Conference Organizing Committee.

William is a first year MBA student specializing in International Finance and Corporate Finance.  Last summer, William interned at the United Nations Capital Development Fund in their Inclusive Finance Practice Area, focusing on micro-insurance and remittances.  He previously was a Directors & Officers Liability and Kidnap & Ransom Insurance Underwriter at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in New York. William is interested in increasing access to capital markets and financial services for developing countries.  Originally from New York, he holds a B.A. in international affairs from George Washington University.  William is a Harvey Beker scholar and serves on the NYU Microfinance Initiative Steering Committee.
