NYU Stern

Teaching

Each year during MBA Pre-term Orientation, I encourage students to be active participants in their Stern experience. I hold myself to these same ideals, which is why I consider teaching an integral part of my responsibility to Stern students. I've been a teacher for more than 35 years, and I continue to draw inspiration and stimulus from interacting with students in the classroom.

In past years, I have taught courses including Advanced Topics in Macroeconomics and The Global Business Environment. In Spring 2007, I will again be teaching one of the sections of our required core course, Professional Responsibility, which Stern introduced to its curriculum more than 35 years ago, well before the current era of business scandals. Our management education institution has a fiduciary duty to the truth, and we are entrusted to provide meaningful and serious intellectual challenges that prepare students to deal with our complex world. This particular course provides a valuable forum to push students to think critically, analytically and ethically, as they will be required to do for the rest of their professional, and personal, lives.
