Identify Stern Talent

Identify the best MBA talent for your hiring needs and corporate culture by conducting one-on-one interviews, hosting corporate presentations, sending representatives to Stern's Fall and Spring Career Fairs and getting involved with student club events.  

To ensure a productive and rewarding recruiting season,  procedures, policies and deadlines are outlined below.

Reservation Requests

We will begin accepting date requests for corporate presentations as well as for full-time and internship interviews on May 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. EST. A separate form must be submitted for each position. Verbal reservations will not be accepted.  Please submit your requests early in order to be considered for peak dates. Registrations received after May 11, 2009 will be handled on a rolling basis.

Schedule Confirmation

OCD will e-mail your confirmed presentation and interview dates within 2 weeks of receiving your completed registration materials. Please verify and retain the confirmation for your records.

Job Descriptions

Job descriptions for full-time and internship opportunities should be uploaded through the Stern Recuitment System by August 10, 2009. In order to provide the most complete details about your opportunities, you will be asked for the following information:

  1. A detailed description of the position
  2. Qualifications (skills, experience, language, graduation dates)
  3. Work authorization requirements
  4. Geographic location
  5. A profile of the division/company

Types of Interview Schedules

Closed/Invitational Schedules
Open Schedules

Closed (also called invitational) schedules allow you to pre-select the candidates you would like to interview. Selections can be based on student-submitted resumes, relationships that have been established through networking events or the resume book.

OCD must receive your closed/invitation list of selected students plus at least three alternates, ranked by preference, by the deadlines (full-timesummer internship).  We will notify the students of their interview invitation.

Open schedules are filled through a lottery-like system in which interview slots are awarded to the highest student bidders.  For full-time recruiting, bidding occurs two weeks prior to the interview date.  For internship recruiting, bidding occurs one week prior to the interview date.

Day of Interview Information

OCD will facilitate all aspects of the on-campus interview process, including scheduling students and creating resume packets for the interview day. 

The majority of employers choose to interview students in our private, on-campus interview rooms located at 44 West Fourth Street (just west of Broadway). Interviewers will need to show a photo ID at the security desk. Check-in for recruiting is on the fifth floor in the Office of Career Development. Click here for location office location information.

Should you decide to interview Stern students at an off-campus location, please take into account the travel time required as students may have classes and interviews scheduled on the same day.
