IOMS DEPARTMENT EVENTS
Faculty in the IOMS Department organize three research seminar series, a researcher-in-residence program, and two brown bag lunch series. In addition, our faculty are involved in organizing several conferences; follow the links to the right for information.
The three Research Seminar Series focus on research topics in Information Systems, Operations Management, and Statistics and are held weekly throughout the academic year. Click on the links to the left for information on each seminar series.

The Professor-in-Residence Program was instituted several years
ago to support extended (one week) visits of distinguished
researchers to the IOMS department. During the visit the Professor
gives two seminars and meets with faculty and graduate students to
discuss topics of mutual interest. In keeping with the interdisciplinary
nature of IOMS, it is the intention that the Professor-in-
Residence have interests that reflect several of the research groups
within the department. Some of our distinguished guests have been:
William Cleveland of Purdue University Jerome Friedman of Stanford University
David Hand of Imperial College in London
Sheldon Ross visited December 13-17, 2004.
In the spring 2005 semester, our Professors-in-Residence were Wanda Orlikowski, MIT, and Haim Mendelson, Stanford University.
The two Informal Research Seminar Series, one in Information Systems and one in Operations Management, are held for IS and OM faculty and doctoral students as an avenue to discuss research by doctoral students as well as joint research between faculty and doctoral students. These discussions are an integral part of the IS and OM doctoral programs.
