The IMI program enabled me to learn more about a new profession first-hand in a low-risk environment. I found the program to be an extension of the Stern community as the mentors were Stern alums. Mentors were passionate about helping the students position themselves as strong candidates during the recruiting process. Particular highlights for me included not only the candid resume reviews and constructive mock-interview feedback, but the willingness of the mentors to provide ad hoc career advice when the program officially ended.

Stern opens many new doors by providing you with the tools needed to succeed in tomorrow's business world. One of these great tools is the IMI program. I came to Stern because I wanted to switch from a software engineering career to a consulting career and the IMI program helped me to achieve my goal. Working with Stern alums at a leading consulting firm, I gained up-to-date knowledge, experience and training in my chosen field. There is nothing like getting constructive feedback and insight from consultants who deal with real business cases.
The IMI program helped shape and enhance my casing techniques, exposed me to consulting terminology, and provided me with a better understanding of what recruiters are looking for in a case interview.
