Biography
David Cho joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Visiting Professor of Finance in September 2008. He is a Professor of Finance at the Sejong University in Seoul, Korea.
Before joining the Sejong University in 2002, Professor Cho served as the President of Samsung Futures Company. Earlier he served as a managing director of the Samsung Securities Company and of the Samsung Life Insurance Company, as well as the head of the Tongyang Economic Research Institute. He also served as a chairman of the Korea Financial Management Association and as a chairman of the Korea Futures Association. He taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for five years and worked for a year at Shearson, Lehman, Hutton in the Derivative Product Research Group.
Professor Cho’s research papers have appeared in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Finance and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Futures Market.
Professor Cho earned his B.S. in Physics from the Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, his Master of Engineering from the University of Virginia and his M.B.A and Ph.D. from the New York University Stern School of Business.
