Biography
Aviad Pe’er joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Management in September 2008. Professor Pe’er’s current research agenda sits at the intersection of strategy and entrepreneurship. In particular he is interested in strategies that new enterprises follow to enhance their survival, growth and profitability; barriers to learning and innovation at the firm and community levels; and the effects of reputation, political and economic environment on private equity activity and performance. His research papers have been published in Strategic Organization, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Venturing, and the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings.
Prior to joining NYU Stern, he served on the faculty of the Tuck school of Business at Dartmouth College. Earlier, he served as an officer in the Israeli Air Force, leading the design and execution of large scale infrastructure and new construction projects.
Professor Pe’er earned his B.S. cum laude in Civil and Geodetic Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Project Management with honors from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, and his Ph.D. in Strategy and Business Economics from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
