Biography
Matt Pritsker joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Visiting Professor of Finance in September 2008. Professor Pritsker is a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC. Prior to joining NYU Stern, he held professorial positions at Johns Hopkins University, the University of California at Berkeley and Georgetown University.

Professor Pritsker’s primary research areas of interest include financial markets, banking, investment banking and risk measurement and management for financial institutions. His most recent research studies how imperfections in financial markets affect the structure of risk sharing across financial markets and between financial markets and financial institutions. Two of Professor Pritsker’s recent papers look at banking and asset securitization and how financial market illiquidity affects initial public offerings. His research has appeared in the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Banking and Finance.

Professor Pritsker received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.
