Biography
Prasanna Tambe joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Information, Operations and Management Sciences in July 2008.
Professor Tambe’s research explores how IT-related organizational change affects labor markets and human resource management. His specific research interests include job-hopping, offshoring and high-tech industry clusters. In his recent papers, Professor Tambe focuses on the effects of offshoring on career outcomes for workers in the United States; the transfer of knowledge among firms resulting from IT worker job-hopping; and the effects on productivity of firms’ external information practices. His research has been published in Information Economics and Policy and has been mentioned in press outlets including CNBC, The Wall Street Journal and Forbes.
Professor Tambe received his S.B. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
