Biography
John Biggs joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Executive-in-Residence in 2005. In the current year, he is teaching a corporate governance course and individual lectures in accounting, finance and investments.
Mr. Biggs's background includes serving for more than ten years as Chairman, President and CEO if TIAA-CREF, the major pension and investment firm serving higher education. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Boeing and Chairs its Audit Committee. He is serving as a Director of the National Bureau of Economic Research and is a past chairman of the NBER. He has also served as a Director of JPMorgan Chase, the NASD and numerous not-for-profit institutions. His teaching and academic interests at Stern include the financing of retirement, corporate governance and professional development courses.
Mr. Biggs earned his B.A. at Harvard College and his Ph.D. in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis.
