Biography
Professor Geeta Menon joined the Stern School of Business in 1990 after receiving her Ph.D. in Business Administration (minor, social psychology) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She served as the Marketing Department chair for four and a half years.

Her research interests include the study of consumer memory and information processing in the contexts of survey methodology, advertising of health information and risk perception. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. She is on the editorial review boards of Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing. She served on the Policy Board of the Journal of Consumer Research, and is currently serving a second term as an Associate Editor for the journal. She is also an Associate Editor at the Journal of Marketing Research.

She has been an active participant in the Association for Consumer Research over the last two decades, having served on the Program Committee several times, co-chaired the 2004 annual conference, and served on the Board of Directors in the role of Treasurer (elected) in 2006; she is currently the President-elect of the association, and will serve as President in 2010.

She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing research, and more recently has focused her teaching efforts on the full-time MBA core course in marketing. She also teaches a behavioral doctoral seminar on consumer information processing in marketing and enjoys mentoring doctoral students. She has won the Citibank Award for excellence in teaching at Stern.
