Ravindra Mantena joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Systems in fall 2011.
Professor Mantena’s area of expertise is the economics of digital and information-rich products. His research explores how the increasing information technology content in products alters competition, strategy and market structure. His recent research has focused on issues of pricing, product design and entry in converging digital markets, and on competition in platform markets. In addition, he has research interests in measuring decision performance, revenue management and information economics.
Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Mantena served on the faculty of the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester for seven years, where he won the Simon School Superior Teaching Award. Prior to entering academia, Professor Mantena worked as a sales manager for a multinational consumer goods firm, and earlier founded an aquaculture company in India.
