Biography

John Handley joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Visiting Associate Professor in 2008. He teaches courses in financial markets at both the undergraduate and graduate level. His home institution is the University of Melbourne, Australia, where he is an Associate Professor of Finance.

Professor Handley's research interests lie in corporate finance, derivative security pricing and corporate finance applications of derivative security pricing including: the design of financial securities, cost of capital, valuation and real options. His publications have appeared in Accounting and Finance, Australian Journal of Management, Economic Record, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial Engineering, Journal of Futures Markets, Review of Derivatives Research and the Harvard Business School Case Collection.

Prior to joining the University of Melbourne, Professor Handley spent five years on the corporate finance team of an international investment bank.

Professor Handley received a B.Com and B.Math from the University of Newcastle, and an M.Com and PhD in Finance from the University of Melbourne.
