Ilan Lobel joined New York University Stern School of Business in July 2010 as an Assistant Professor of Information, Operations and Management Sciences. He teaches a course entitled "Decision Models." Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Lobel was a post-doctoral researcher at Microsoft Research's New England Laboratory.
Professor Lobel's research focuses on the operations of Internet-based businesses, including issues such as pricing, learning and contract design in online, dynamic and networked markets. His work has been published in journals including Management Science, Mathematical Programming, Operations Research and The Review of Economic Studies.
Professor Lobel received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Pontificia Universidade Catolica of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and his Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
