Emilio Ocampo joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Adjunct Professor of Finance in June 2013.

Professor Ocampo's has a vast experience in emerging markets finance in senior positions at top ranked Wall Street firms. He started his career in New York at JP Morgan Chase's international capital markets group in 1989, where he worked on corporate bond issues in Latin America and Southeast Asia. In 1994 he joined Salomon Brothers's investment banking department and led a team that completed some of the most challenging and innovative M&A, privatization and capital raising transactions in Latin America. In 2000 he was hired by Morgan Stanley's London based investment banking team to focus on media clients in Europe. He also worked as senior advisor to the London office of Citigroup Venture Capital and as an independent consultant to companies and investors with interests in Latin America.

Professor Ocampo is also an historian and the author of five books (including a winner of the 2009 Best Book award by the International Napoleonic Society) and numerous articles. He writes regularly for Argentina's leading newspapers. He is a member of the Academic Advisory Board of Fundación Libertad y Progreso, a public policy think tank in Argentina, a Fellow of the International Napoleonic Society (Montreal-Paris) and until earlier this year the Chairman of the Board of HelpArgentina, a not-for-profit organization that promotes philanthropy in Argentina.

Professor Ocampo received a graduate degree in Economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina) and MBA from the University of Chicago. Since 2006 he has been adjunct professor in the finance department at Universidad CEMA (Argentina).
