This is a selective and competitive program, and we encourage you to come in for an interview and submit your formal application as soon as possible. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once they are complete. You should submit all parts of your application by the earliest possible date. Contact the Admissions Office with any questions regarding your application. You can reach us by phone at 212-998-0789, or by email at executive@stern.nyu.edu. 5. Do I have to take the GMAT?In most cases, yes. The NYU Stern Executive MBA program requires that applicants take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) and submit their official test scores. However, the Admissions Committee will consider waiving the GMAT requirement in exceptional cases where a candidate can document advanced academic credentials and a substantial history of professional achievement. Applicants seeking entry in August 2010 or later can take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) as an acceptable alternative to the GMAT. For applicants seeking entry in January 2010, the GMAT is the only acceptable standardized test format. 6. Can I sit in on a class?Yes. There is no better way to see what the NYU Stern Executive MBA experience is really like than by sitting in on some of our classes. After your interview, you can request to sit in on classes with one or more of our current students so you can experience the classroom dynamics firsthand. 7. Tours and domestic residency required?Yes. The two required Global Study Tours are integral parts of our program's curriculum, and they offer you the unique opportunity to learn and study in markets around the world. The Tours' cost, except for roundtrip airfare from New York to the country of study and other nominal expenses, is included in the program's fees and tuition. A domestic residency, held at Arrowwood in Westchester County, launches the first week of the first academic year. This residency includes classes and team-building activities. 8. What career services are available to Executive MBA students?Stern equips you with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively manage your career progression. As an Executive MBA student you have access to Stern’s Career Center for Working Professionals (CCWP) and our dedicated Executive MBA Career Advisor. As a graduate of the program you continue to have access to Stern's Career Center for Working Professionals (CCWP) for the rest of your career. 9. How much does the Executive MBA program cost?Tuition and fees for students entering in January 2010 will be $137,000. The total amount will be payable as follows: $5,000 non-refundable tuition deposit due when the applicant accepts the offer of admission; the remaining balance will be divided into four equal semiannual payments due on July 15 and December 15 of each of the two academic years. 10. What does “sponsorship” mean?Because our program requires you to be out of the office two Fridays a month for 22 months and for three week-long residencies (one domestic, two international), your employer must sponsor you for the time away from work. Sponsorship can also refer to financial support that an organization may offer to its employees for the program; however financial sponsorship is not required for our Executive MBA program. 11. How do I negotiate sponsorship?Every organization is different, so we recommend discussing your individual situation in detail with an Admissions Director when you come in for your interview. Our Admissions Directors can guide you accordingly. 12. What loans, grants and scholarships are available to help me finance my Executive MBA?This Academic Year 2009-2010, the NYU Stern Executive MBA program will offer several scholarships to applicants receiving minimal or no financial sponsorship. Recipients will be selected by the Admissions Committee on the basis of exceptional academic and professional performance, as well as personal qualities such as leadership, integrity and community service. Scholarships range in value from 10% of the total tuition cost to $40,000. In addition to the scholarships above, there are many federal and private loan programs available for Executive MBA Students. Please visit Stern's Financial Aid website to learn more. 13. When are payments due?Tuition and fees for students entering in January 2010 will be $137,000. The total amount will be payable as follows: $5,000 non-refundable tuition deposit due when the applicant accepts the offer of admission; the remaining balance will be divided into four equal semiannual payments due on July 15 and December 15 of each of the two academic years.
