The Stern Economics Department is a vibrant group of faculty and students actively engaged in teaching and research. The department primarily offers economics courses at the MBA level (micro, macro, and various electives), but also some undergraduate and PhD level courses.
The economics faculty at the Stern School of Business regularly make important research contributions in various fields, including industrial organization, international macroeconomics, economic and financial history, econometrics. Many faculty members have served in various elected offices of leading economic organizations, as well as editorial positions in leading economic periodicals.
Research and coursework at the Stern Economics department benefit from close cooperation with other departments at Stern as well as the FAS Department of Economics. Several doctoral courses are cross listed and various seminars are jointly organized (or at least jointly attended).
In sum, the Department offers exceptional opportunities for undergraduate and graduate study and research.
