What are the primary goals of the Concourse Project? NYU Stern's reputation has outpaced its facilities, necessitating a transformation that aligns our physical environment with Stern's high quality educational experience and dynamic community. The Concourse Project will achieve this goal, and is the most significant physical renovation since the consolidation of the undergraduate and graduate programs at Washington Square 20 years ago.

How were the architects selected? Perkins + Will emerged as the architect of choice after a rigorous selection process in which five leading firms bid and developed initial designs for the space. Perkins + Will was chosen for its innovative design, experience with other leading business schools and its exceptional project management capabilities.

When will the Concourse Project be completed? We estimate the completion of the full Concourse Project in early 2010. Please note, that the project will be completed in phases and some spaces will be fully renovated and fully accessible sooner. When will construction begin? Construction is already underway. In December 2007, demolition of the Shimkin Hall basement began and the build out of that space has been in progress since the start of 2008. Noticeable construction in the lobby of Tisch Hall will begin in April 2008 when a barricade will be constructed at the site of the new three level stairwell that will serve as a centerpiece of the Tisch Hall renovation.
