  • 9/30/09 Turnitin Training Sessions for Faculty

    Turnitin is online plagiarism prevention and detection software licensed for unlimited use for faculty at Stern. Turnitin enables faculty or students to submit assignments online and receive originality reports that compare the content to data on the Internet, commercial databases, and previous papers submitted to the system.   • 9/18/09 Teaching Assistants Orientation Sessions

    CITL hosted 5 TA orientations. Topics covered included Communicating effectively with students and setting up a Blackboard course site.

  • 09/03/09 - New Faculty Teaching Orientation 

    CITL will facilitate a two-day orientation for new faculty.

  • 09/02/09 & 09/18/09 - Blackboard Advanced Training for Faculty  

    The advanced training is designed for faculty who feel comfortable using Blackboard and are looking to take their skills to the next level.

    Topics covered include: Group Management, Grade Center, and the Virtual Classroom and Chat tools.

  • 08/26/09 & 09/11/09 - Getting Started with Blackboard - Training for Faculty  

    The Center for Innovation for Teaching and Learning will host a series of Getting started with Blackboard 8.0 trainings for Faculty. The Getting started with Blackboard 8.0 training is designed for faculty who have little or no knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management System and need an introduction to the most commonly used features of the software. Please consider scheduling a one-on-one session if you feel that you are familiar with most of the items on the agenda and will benefit from a personalized training on a specific topic. The main interface in Blackboard 8.0 remains the same and incorporates the navigation options used in the previous version

ABOUT THE CITL

The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) advances instructional support initiatives for faculty and performs strategic thinking and planning in educational technology. The Center supports the exploration and adoption of new methods in teaching and learning, and promotes interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration. The Center’s faculty services include:

  • Pedagogical support and consultation
  • Blackboard technical support
  • Consultation and support of other educational technologies including classroom tools, software, and multimedia
  • Creation of teaching resources and tutorials, as well as live forums and orientations designed to enhance the teaching and learning process
  • Hands-on classroom support in enhanced classrooms
