CeDER Prospectus
The Center for Digital Economy Research (CeDER) at NYU Stern supports research on information technology in business. We focus on the information technology, digital media and financial services industries with an emphasis on electronic commerce and electronic markets. The CeDER charter includes the following four objectives:
- Provide intellectual leadership on how information technologies are transforming business and society.
- Stimulate research about the business of the emerging digital economy.
- Create forums for engaging business leaders, IT professionals, scholars, and students in discourse about the intersection of research and practice in the digital economy.
- Support faculty development and curricular innovation.
Research Tracks: CeDER supports four main research concentrations that address specific areas of the digital economy: Business Intelligence and Data Mining, IT Economics, Technology Enabled Organizational Forms and Relations, and Interactive Marketing. Learn more about CeDER's research tracks
Leadership: CeDER is led by co-directors Vasant Dhar (Professor and Chair of the Information Systems Group), Russ Winer (William H. Joyce Professor of Marketing), and Tulin Erdem (Leonard N. Stern Professor of Marketing). The combined efforts of our faculty directed by the above mentioned research tracks with NYU Stern’s myriad resources and connections is the crux of CeDER's mission - to develop and implement ways of using information technology to optimize business.
