The holiday season is a time to reflect upon our successes and those who have helped to make them possible.  Stern, my alma mater for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, has played an important role in my life and supported my personal growth and development.  It is in the spirit of giving back that I’ve chosen to stay involved with Stern as an alumnus, currently serving as Chair of the Alumni Council Development Committee. 

Stern Alumni Gather Under the Stars
On December 6, more than 620 members of the Stern alumni community gathered “under the stars” at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History for the Eighth Annual Stern Alumni Ball.  The gala, which has become a special tradition, brought together alumni, faculty, administrators, and friends to celebrate the Stern community and our New York City location during the holiday season.

Barcelona 2009: Global Alumni Conference - Alfredo Sáenz, CEO of Banco Santander, Accepts Keynote
For nearly a decade, the Global Alumni Conference has been an important tradition and international forum for the NYU Stern community to discuss current global issues with fellow alumni. Guests will have the opportunity to hear an exclusive keynote address from Alfredo Sáenz, Chief Executive Officer of Banco Santander.

"Stern on Finance" - New Faculty Blog is Centralized Information Hub on Financial Crisis
NYU Stern faculty are at the forefront of analyzing the financial crisis as it unfolds and developing market and policy solutions, based on their research and expertise. To provide their analysis on a timely basis in a centralized place, the Stern School has launched a blog, "Stern on Finance," that can be accessed through the NYU Stern home page, or through the Finance Department’s website. We urge you to subscribe and bookmark this link for the latest analysis from Stern’s deep bench of experts in economics, finance, and accounting.

Professor Nouriel Roubini authored an op-ed suggesting ways in which central banks can avoid a severe global 'stag-deflation,' which he describes as a deadly combination of economic stagnation/recession and deflation.
