October 17 Kickoff Happy Hour for Undergraduate College Recent Graduates
Undergraduate alumni representing the last decade of graduating classes will come
together at a special kickoff social at the NYU Torch Club on October 17.
The event will provide an opportunity for alumni to socialize and network, to reconnect with former classmates
and to be updated on the latest news from Stern. "We anticipate that the October 17 event will be critical
in generating momentum and enthusiasm for the undergraduate community and will strengthen the School's relations
with this important segment of our alumni," said Alumni Affairs Director Jeanne Marano.
Undergraduate College Dean Frederick D.S. Choi and members of a new Undergraduate
Committee will attend the event to greet alumni.
The Alumni Advisory Council, as part of its mission to engage alumni in the Stern community, has established task
forces to address areas of interest. The Undergraduate Committee, which operates under the Recent Graduate Task
Force, is charged with strengthening the undergraduate alumni network. This team of leading graduates will work
closely with the Office of Alumni Affairs and the Undergraduate Dean’s Office in the planning and promotion of
social and networking events.
"I am privileged to have been asked to participate in the Alumni Advisory Council and the Undergraduate Committee
and to have the opportunity to give back to NYU Stern," said Committee Member Tracea Routie, BS '01, "Dean
Choi and [Director, Office of Advising and Student Services] Carolyn Magnani, among others made an investment in
me when I was an undergraduate student. I feel that it is only fitting that I, in turn, make an investment in my
School and in our future alumni. For me, this role also is an opportunity to apply both my business education and
experience in strategy for our School's benefit."
