Greetings from Frederick D.S. Choi

Dear Alumnus/a:

We have just kicked off another exciting year at Stern and have welcomed 450 freshmen students. The School's high selectivity continues to propel upward with each new entering class.

Over the last few years, Stern's Undergraduate College has made incredible progress on its "Path to Excellence." I hope that you enjoy taking a closer look at the progression that the School has made in the last few years in the soon-to-be-released Progress Report. We have initiated successful programs like the International Study Project, Senior Honors Program and Connections Program. Each of these ground-breaking initiatives has contributed to our students' experiences, and has also distinguished us among other top schools. We are dedicated to remaining at the forefront of business education - by continuing to develop innovative programs and curricula. I am personally committed to continuing to propel us forward on the Path to Excellence.

We have many exciting events in the pipeline for the coming semester. As you will read in this issue of the e-newsletter, the NYU Stern Undergraduate College and Office of Alumni Affairs are hosting a Recent Graduate Alumni Happy Hour at the NYU Torch Club on Thursday, October 17. Secondly, the First Annual Stern Summit on Global Business will take place on November 8 and 9. Richard Grasso, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the New York Stock Exchange, will speak at the Summit. I hope that you will be able to join us for these exciting events.

Sincerely,

Frederick D.S. Choi
Vice Dean and Dean of the Undergraduate College
