NYU President John Sexton to
Meet Alumni at Regional Receptions
In the coming academic year, alumni, parents and friends across the country will
be welcomed at regional receptions to meet NYU's new President, John Sexton. Beginning with a special reception
in Short Hills, New Jersey, on September 17, President Sexton will travel around the United States to meet members
of the NYU community and share with them his vision for the future of the University.
John Sexton will be installed as the 15th President of NYU on September 26, 2002. Prior to his appointment, President
Sexton served as Dean and Professor of Law of New York University School of Law, teaching Civil Procedure, Constitutional
Law and Religion and Law. He joined the Law School faculty in 1981. President Sexton received his Bachelor of Arts
in history from Fordham College, a Master of Arts in comparative religion and a Doctor of Philosophy in history
of American religion from Fordham University. In 1979, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. He
is a scholar of the Supreme Court and the federal court system and of the First Amendment with a concentration
on church/state issues.
All alumni are invited to meet President Sexton at these receptions. Two months prior to each event, invitations
will be mailed to alumni residing in and around the cities listed below.
