Graifman Award Announced in Honor of Alumnus Lost on September 11

NYU Stern School of Business is honored to announce the establishment of the David M. Graifman Annual Award based on a competition for the best doctoral dissertation in the Department of Finance. This Award has been established in memory of alumnus David M. Graifman, MBA '91 and former Vice President of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., who was lost in the tragic events of September 11.

The Award has been established to honor David M. Graifman's contributions as a person, a man of business and a Stern graduate. It will be presented each year for the best dissertation submitted by a student pursuing his/her doctorate in Stern's Department of Finance. This student will display a deep understanding of finance and original insights into how financial markets function through a creative and rigorously researched thesis. The Award will be important in realizing the key objective of the Department's doctoral program - to prepare degree candidates for research positions in top academic institutions.

The David M. Graifman Annual Award was made possible through generous contributions by the Graifman family, including Mr. Graifman's wife, Christine Huhn, a 1992 graduate of the Undergraduate College, as well as several corporate and individual sources. The Award promises to provide long-lasting benefits not only for the honored recipients, but also for the global community of outstanding leaders in the education and business sectors.

For more information about this Award, please contact Hope Temple, Assistant Director of Development, at (212) 998-4038 or
