7th Annual All-University
Entrepreneurship Conference

Nearly 1,200 alumni, students and friends of New York University participated in the 7th Annual All University Business Ownership, Self-employment and Entrepreneurship Conference on April 26.

Conference attendees had the opportunity to interact with some of the nation's top entrepreneurs and gain insight into how they built their businesses. Participants also gained exposure to the variety of business ownership possibilities. The event, held at NYU Stern, featured a keynote address by John Catsimatidis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Red Apple Group Inc., a privately held company with annual sales of over $2 billion and 7,000 employees. The second keynote presentation was given by Marc Routh, President of Marc Routh Productions Inc., a theatre production company that plays 1,982 performances in 43 cities, grossing nearly $90 million annually.

Breakout sessions covered a wide array of topics including: "Financing Your Business," "Women in Business," "Turning Your Business Idea Into a Reality" and "Negotiating Techniques." In addition, the Conference featured an all-day Student & Alumni Business Expo, at which new business ideas were on display.

"This Conference was created to help alumni and students focus their entrepreneurial dreams and give them the tools to make those dreams come true," said Daniel Vaccaro, BS '82 / MBA '86, who founded and co-chaired the conference with Louis T. Markstrom, BS '92.

Save the date of April 24, 2003 for next year's conference.
