CAP Volunteers Needed The
Office of Career Development (OCD) is currently calling for MBA alumni
volunteers to participate in the Career Advisory Program (CAP). CAP
is designed to provide first-year, full-time MBA students and graduating
MBA students with the opportunity to speak with successful Stern alumni
in a wide range of industries about their careers. The current economic climate presents a number of challenges for students as they prepare to navigate their post-MBA careers. In response to a tighter job market, NYU Stern launched a number of exciting new programs and outreach initiatives to help students search for jobs more effectively. However, there is no substitute for the insight and guidance that alumni can provide. We encourage MBA alumni to sign up for CAP, and offer assistance to an MBA student who is involved in a job search. As a member of CAP, you have the opportunity to share personal insights and offer advice on a particular industry and function to a current student. This guidance is crucial for students in identifying career goals and establishing successful job search strategies. The level of involvement in the program is determined individually by the participating alumnus/a. Contact with a student may range from an e-mail or phone call inquiry to an informational interview or to an ongoing mentor relationship through the search process. To
