Stern Hosts Corporate Ethics Seminar In
response to increasing concerns about ethics in corporate America, the
NYU Stern Undergraduate College held a special seminar featuring speakers
from the highest levels of corporations, regulatory agencies and academia.
The seminar, entitled "The Integrity of Corporate Accounts and
the Stability of Capital Markets: Implications for the Future of the
American Economy," spanned the spring semester. Its goal was to
foster a greater understanding of the demands of corporate executives
today and the ability to ethically meet those demands. "At Stern, we are focused on developing our students not only as top professionals, but also as outstanding leaders," said Frederick Choi, Vice Dean and Dean of the Undergraduate College. "I believe that this course was a remarkable opportunity for students to learn from top-level executives who have had to make crucial, far-impacting, and most important, ethical decisions throughout their careers." Both undergraduate and MBA students participated in the seminar, which was led and organized by Abraham Gitlow, who served as Dean of the NYU Stern Undergraduate College from 1965 - 1985.
