Third Annual Alumni Wine Tasting

Nearly 150 MBA alumni gathered for the Third Annual Alumni Wine Tasting, hosted by alumni of The Langone Program, on February 20. The event provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect and socialize while sampling a selection of fine wines.

Jeanne Marano, Director of Alumni Affairs, welcomed the attendees and encouraged participation in the online alumni community, SWAP (Stern Worldwide Alumni Platform). The Office of Alumni Affairs recently launched a major upgrade of the SWAP software. The new version of SWAP provides expanded services for Stern alumni. In addition to the standard features such as e-mail forwarding for life, resume posting and the advanced contact search tool, SWAP services now include new features such as mail groups, class and regional group websites, a Class Notes section and access to career resources. A number of alumni at the wine tasting took advantage of the SWAP stations on hand to request their username and password and logged on to SWAP to update their information.

Kim Corfman, Associate Dean of Instructional Support and Academic Director of The Langone Program, greeted alumni and shared an update on developments in the part-time program, including the creation of core groups and new representation in Student Corporation (SCorp). Dean Corfman also spoke about a new, modular schedule for the part-time program, which allows candidates to complete their degree in as few as two years. Candidates must complete the program in six years.

Finally, Christine Schneider, MBA '94 and Chair of the Alumni Advisory Council's Career Development Task Force, invited guests to get involved in the Stern community through task force initiatives designed to strengthen the network and assist alumni who are involved in a job search or career transition. If you are interested in participating in career development activities, please contact Sheri Pillo, Associate Director of Alumni Affairs, at (212) 998-0671 or spillo@stern.nyu.edu.
