MBA/MPA (Wagner School of Public Service)

This program is designed for students who are interested in careers in business and public health or administration. Students apply simultaneously to Stern and the Wagner School of Public Service.  Both degrees are completed over the course of 3 years, instead of the 4 years that it would take to complete each degree independently.

Admission to the MBA/MPA program
To apply for the dual MBA/MPA degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. No additional admissions standards are applied to dual degree applications at either school. The student qualifies for the dual MBA/MPA degree program upon admission to both schools.

Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program.

Academic Requirements
The program takes three years to complete. Students will spend the first year at Stern, and their second and third years will be split between the two schools. To view the course sequencing, visit the Academic Advising website.

Tuition & Financial Aid
MBA/MPA students pay full tuition at the school through which they are registered each semester. If a student exceeds the maximum number of credits and/or courses permitted per semester by the school in which she/he is registered, the tuition and fees for the additional credits must be paid to that school.

Merit scholarships are awarded based on the admissions application to each school.  Financial aid, including federal and private loans, is awarded through the school at which a student is registered in a given semester. In addition, students may obtain Teaching Fellowship or Graduate Assistantship positions, which offer tuition remission.

Career Services
Students are encouraged to take advantage of all counseling and placement services at both Stern and Wagner throughout their academic program. Career counselors are available to aid students in areas such as résumé preparation, interviewing techniques, networking and career option assessment. Dual degree students should become familiar early in the program with career services offered at each respective school.
