Dual Degree Applicants (other than JD/MBA)
For NYU’s dual degree programs listed below, you must complete two applications – one for NYU Stern’s MBA program and one for the other NYU program you would like to attend. Please use our standard online application to apply to NYU Stern’s MBA program.

Apply to the other NYU school of interest using its application instructions. It is important that you read the detailed information below for the specific dual degree to which you are applying.

If you are applying to NYU Stern’s Dual MBA program with the HEC School of Management and are a current student at either Stern or HEC, click here. Applicants who are not current students at Stern or HEC are not eligible to apply to the NYU Stern/HEC Dual MBA program.
MBA/MFA (Master of Fine Arts)
To apply for the MBA/MFA dual degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. Students applying for the dual degree program must meet the second Stern deadline of January 15 and the Kanbar deadline of December 1. You may be admitted to the dual MBA/MFA degree program, only one of the degree programs or neither degree program. Since the first year of the dual degree program starts at Stern, students in their first year of the MBA program will be eligible to apply for the MFA by Kanbar's December 1 deadline on a space available basis. Space availability depends on the number of admitted students from the year prior who choose to enroll and remain in the MBA/MFA dual degree program. Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program. For the MFA application, follow the instructions at the Tisch School of the Arts.
MBA/MS in Mathematics in Finance
To apply for the dual MBA/MS degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. You may be admitted to the dual MBA/MS degree program, only one of the degree programs or neither degree program. Please note that to apply to the MS, you must have taken undergraduate or graduate courses in Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Advanced Probability, and have basic programming skills. Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program. For the MS application, follow the instructions at the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
MBA/MPA (Master of Public Administration)
To apply for the MBA/MPA dual degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. You may be admitted to the dual MBA/MPA degree program, only one of the degree programs or neither degree program. Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program. For the MPA application, follow the instructions at the Wagner School of Public Service.
MBA/MA (Master of Arts in French Studies)
To apply for the MBA/MA in French Studies dual degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. You may be admitted to the dual MBA/MA in French Studies degree program, only one of the degree programs or neither degree program. Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program. For the MA in French Studies application, follow the instructions at the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
MBA/MA (Master of Arts in Politics)
To apply for the MBA/MA in Politics dual degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. Students typically apply simultaneously to Stern and the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. You may be admitted to the dual MBA/MA in Politics degree program, only one of the degree programs or neither degree program. Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program. For the MA in Politics program, follow the instructions at the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
MS/MBA (Master of Science in Biology)
To apply for the MS in Biology/MBA dual degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. Students can either apply simultaneously to Stern and the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, or they can apply to Stern during the course of their first year in the Biology program. You may be admitted to the dual MS in Biology/MBA degree program, only one of the degree programs or neither degree program. Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program. For the MS in Biology application, follow the instructions at the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
