NYU Stern is a member of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, an alliance of American business schools and top corporations established to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by helping to reduce the serious underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in both the member schools’ enrollment and the ranks of management.

The Consortium achieves this mission by recruiting for graduate business education qualified U.S. citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents from these underrepresented groups, as well as other persons who can demonstrate a commitment to the Consortium’s mission and can best assist the Consortium in pursuing this mission.

We strongly recommend that eligible candidates apply for admission to NYU Stern and scholarship consideration by using the Consortium application rather than the NYU Stern application. Applicants who apply using the Consortium application undergo the same evaluation process as applicants who apply directly to NYU Stern. If you choose to apply to NYU Stern through the Consortium, you do not need to complete a second NYU Stern application. Note that if you are applying to NYU's JD/MBA program, you may not apply to NYU Stern through the Consortium and should follow the JD/MBA application process.

Applying through the Consortium provides four key benefits:

  1. Consideration for Membership in the Consortium
Consortium members gain access to nearly 100 corporate partners and recruiters and over 5,000 Consortium alumni across 15 member schools.  Also, members attend a five-day Orientation Program (OP) in June prior to beginning the MBA.

  2. Consideration for Consortium Fellowship
Applicants who are admitted through the Consortium process and become Consortium members are considered for this prestigious two-year fellowship covering all tuition and mandatory fees. Consortium applicants also are considered for NYU Stern’s merit-based scholarships and financial aid packages.

  3. Common Application
By completing just one application, you can apply to up to six Consortium schools. This enables you to focus on completing one application to the best of your ability versus spreading your efforts across multiple different applications.

  4. Tiered Application Fee
Using the Consortium common application significantly reduces your application fee costs versus applying to each Consortium member school individually.
